Cobb police arrest husband for wife's murder

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

Police arrested a 67-year-old man for allegedly murdering his wife early Sunday morning.

According to a release from the Cobb County Police Department, officers were called out to the 4200 block of Bishop Lake Road near Marietta just after 8:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call.

Officers arrived to find Lynn York, 66, of Marietta, dead at the residence from apparent gunshot wounds.

They arrested her husband, David Rex York Jr., and charged him with aggravated assault and murder. He is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

Investigators are still trying to determine what prompted the murder.
