Tornado Watch In Effect For Parts Of Pennsylvania

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The National Weather Service has issued Tornado Watch until 11 p.m. this evening for portions of Pennsylvania.

CHECK: Weather Warnings, Watches And Advisories

The watch includes several counties in our viewing area, including Berks, Chester, Lancaster, Lehigh and Northampton.

A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later possible warnings.

A band of thunderstorms is currently evolving along a cold front over central Pennsylvania, and the potential will exist for storms capable of damaging winds and perhaps tornadoes, the weather service says.
