DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. -

More than half a million dollars was recently discovered missing from the Downingtown School District in Chester County.

On Friday, investigators announced they recovered $665,000 of tax payer money from an overseas bank account.

School administrators first noticed something fishy on Tuesday, when they found "irregularities" with the district's bank accounts.

Police found three fraudulent wire transfers but have yet to make an arrest.

Federal authorities are now taking over the case.
